Taxonomic Literature: Taxonomic notes: The studied type collection is rather poor, the ascocarps and asci are immature.+ascocarp outer wall cells conspicuous, large, ca. 10-25 µm diam.;. Braun U., Beih. Nova Hedwigia 89: 1-700 [233-234] (1987).

Biogeography: Continent: Asia-Tropical. Country or state(s): Bhutan (Bhutan) & Sikkim (India) (only known from the type collection).

Ecology: Biotroph; phytopathogenic; growing on leaves, amphigenous. Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Symplocos racemosa Roxb.; Symplocos, Symplocaceae.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, scattered or gregarious, .07-.09 mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments present (long, up to 250 µm in length); straight, 1-2.5 µm long, 3.5-8 µm in diameter, hyaline or pigmented (yellowish), few, growing all across the lower half of the ascocarp, more or less rough, thin or moderatly thick (below), not ramified or ramified, irregular, aseptate or septate (with few inconspicuous septa).

Asci: 2-3 asci per ascocarp, not stipitate, 50-65 µm long, 40-50 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 7-8 per ascus, subglobose, ellipsoid, or ovoid, 18-22.5 µm long, 10-13.5 µm wide; septa absent.
