Margin: External filaments present; mycelioid, straight, (.5)-1-2-(2.5) µm long, (4)-5-6-(7.5) µm in diameter, hyaline (at first; 2: later brown throughout, seldom brown below and paler upwards) or pigmented, numerous, growing all across the lower half of the ascocarp, smooth or rough, thin, not ramified, septate.
Asci: (2)-3-6 asci per ascocarp, not stipitate or indistinctly stipitate, 50-70 µm long, 30-55 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate (wall thin).
Ascospores: 12 to c. 4 per ascus, spores 2-4 per ascus, ellipsoid or broadly ovoid, 20-26-(28) µm long, 14-18-(21) µm wide; septa absent.
