Taxonomic Literature: Taxonomic notes: +special aerial hyphae brown, filiform, flexuous, long, about (2.5-)3-6.5(-7) µm wide, densely interwoven with each other, simple, seldom branched, thick-walled, often obliterate, aseptate, rarely few inconspicuous septa, smooth, the aerial hyphae are usually widely curved, loosely twisted or loosely falcate;+ascom. outer wall cells irregularly polygonal, ca. 10-20 µm diam., cells of the inner wall regularly polygonal, ca. 10-22 µm diam., walls easily seperating from each other;. Braun U., Beih. Nova Hedwigia 89: 1-700 [95] (1987).

Biogeography: Continent: Asia-Tropical. Country or state(s): Sumatra (Indonesia) (Java).

Ecology: Biotroph; phytopathogenic; growing on leaves, hypophyllous (external, some hyphae however, intercellular). Host or Phorophyte Taxonomy: Castanopsis argentea; Fagaceae.

Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Cleistothecioid, orbicular, forming independently from the host thallus or mycelium, not emerging (in the dense mycelial patches), .09-.13 mm in diam.. Margin: External filaments absent or present (very rudimentary); few.

Asci: 1 asci per ascocarp, sub-globose, not stipitate or indistinctly stipitate, 80-105 µm long, 80-105 µm wide; dehiscence unitunicate.

Ascospores: c. 8 per ascus, spores 6-8 per ascus, subglobose, ellipsoid, or ovoid, 19-28 µm long, 18-24 µm wide, obtuse; septa absent; lumina of equal size.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
