Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, subglobose or broadly ovoid, forming inside the thallus or mycelium of the host (on gall-like malformations of the host thallus), not emerging, 80-150 µm wide, 100-150 µm high, with a black surface. Wall: Not carbonized. Margin: Black, 15-35 µm wide. Exciple: Not carbonized; brown (brown to dark brown). Periphyses: Present. Hymenium: Iodine reaction: Lugol’s negative, not hemiamyloid. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed; cells 3 µm wide. Hypothecium: Brown.

Asci: Cylindrical, distinctly stipitate, 55-80 µm long, 10-14 µm wide; tholus not amyloid; ocular chamber absent or present; narrow; dehiscence bitunicate (fissitunicate); exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid; ascoplasm dextrinoid (endoascus CR+ orange).

Ascospores: Uniseriate or not uniseriate (overlapping-uniseriate to biseriate), c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 9-10.7-12-(13) µm long, 4-5-6 µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 3-transversally septate; lumina more or less of equal size or apically enlarged, constricted at the centre; wall thin, laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, becoming pigmented, middle brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.

Secondary Metabolites: Not detected.
