Reproduction Strategy: With sexual (and possible asexual) stages. Ascocarps: Perithecioid, forming inside the thallus or mycelium of the host, within the ascocarp disks of the host, not emerging, becoming adnate, abundant, .25-.35 mm in diam.. Margin: 10 µm wide. Exciple: Hyphae 2-4 µm wide, 6-13 µm long. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched, distinctly anastomosed; cells 1-1.5 µm wide.
Asci: Cylindrical, 68-95 µm long, 7-8 µm wide; dehiscence bitunicate.
Ascospores: Uniseriate, c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, ellipsoid, 10-13 µm long, 4.5-6 µm wide, aciculate; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; lumina apically enlarged, constricted at the centre; wall becoming pigmented, dark brown, ornamented.
