Ascospores: Uniseriate, c. 8 per ascus, spores 4-6-(8) per ascus, globose, rarely ellipsoid, or obovoid, 15-16.4-18.5-(19.5) µm long, (6.5)-7-7.9-9-(9.5) µm wide, obtuse; septa present; transversally septate, 1-transversally septate; lumina apically enlarged, constricted at the centre; wall laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, becoming pigmented, dark brown, ornamented (densely rugose to verruculose when mature), distinctly halonate, i.e., with a thick mucilaginous sheath.
