Ascocarps: Perithecioid, obpyriform (pyriform), forming inside the thallus or mycelium of the host, not emerging, becoming adnate to rarely soon sessile, .2-.6 mm in diam., 200-600 µm wide, with a black to brown to dark brown surface. Wall: Not carbonized, complete. Margin: Smooth, black, homogenously pigmented; external filaments absent. Exciple: Paraplectenchymatous (prosoplectenchymatic); not carbonized; black to brown. Periphyses: Present. Hymenium: Not gelatinized. Interascal Hyphae: Present, distinctly branched. Hypothecium: Brown.

Asci: Cylindrical, 140-200 µm long, 10-13.5 µm wide; tholus widening towards apex, not amyloid; ocular chamber present; narrow; dehiscence bitunicate; exoascus not amyloid, not hemiamyloid.

Ascospores: Uniseriate, c. 8 per ascus, spores 8 per ascus, fusiform (to spindle-shaped), 19.5-23.7-(27) µm long, 8.3-9.8-(9) µm wide, obtuse to aciculate; septa present; both transversally and longitudinally (to submuriform), 3-5-transversally septate, 1-2 longitudinal septa per transversal septum; wall thin, laterally constricted where the septum meets the spore wall, becoming pigmented, pale brown, in Lugol's Solution negative, wall not ornamented.

Conidiomata: Absent resp. not observed.
