Thallus: Crustose, squamulose; branches loosely aggregated or clustered. Primary Thallus: Evanescent. Secondary Thallus: Present, of indeterminate growth; stipe 20-35 mm high, .7-1.5 mm wide, olive or brown ((107) to dark brown), mottled (with black areas), corticate (over most of podetia), with longitudinally split or perforated wall. Upper Surface: Smooth (and shiny).
