Secondary Thallus: Present, of indeterminate growth; stipe 20-35 mm high, .7-1.5 mm wide, olive or brown ((107) to dark brown), mottled (with black areas), corticate (over most of podetia), with longitudinally split or perforated wall. Upper Surface: Smooth (and shiny).
Lower Cortex: Absent.
Ascocarps: Sparse. Disk: Brown.
Secondary Metabolites: Squamatic acid and hopane-6a,22-diol, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsides.
Spot Tests: Upper surface: K (negative), C , PD .
