Ecology: Terricolous, bryophytic, lignicolous, or corticolous; growing sun-exposed, partially shaded, or fully shaded; substrate non-calciferous.

Thallus: Crustose, squamulose; lobes ascending or horizontal; branches loosely aggregated, clustered, scattered, or densely aggregated; separate thallus parts 1-3 mm long; .5-3 mm wide. Primary Thallus: Persistent. Secondary Thallus: Present, arising from center of the primary thallus or arising from edge of the primary thallus, of determinate growth; stipe 10-70 mm high, 1-3 mm wide, lime green ((121) where squamulose) or brown, homogeneously coloured, mottled, or tainted brown, not corticate (from most of podetium), with perforated wall. Thallus Outline: Margin dissected (thin). Upper Surface: Verruculose or areolated (and decorticate), lime green (pale to greyish (121-122)), smooth; not sorediate. Lower Surface: White or brown (at base).

Lower Cortex: Absent.

Ascocarps: Forming apical at the tip of branches or stipes or along the margin of scyphi, moderately abundant, .4-1.5 mm in diam.. Disk: Plane (and marginate at first) or weakly convex to strongly convex (oftened clustered); brown (pale to dark reddish brown).

Conidiomata: Formed on podetia or on margins of scyphi.

Secondary Metabolites: Squamatic acid, of the following substance class(es): ß-orcinol depsides.

Spot Tests: Upper surface: K – (negative), C –, PD –.

UV-Fluorescence: Reaction colour: bright bluish white.
