Secondary Thallus: Present, of indeterminate growth; stipe 20-65 mm high, 1-1.5 mm wide, grey-green, lime green, or brown (very light yellowish green (134-121), especially at base or in shady habitats, white to yellow-brown on decorticate areas, especially at tips), mottled or tainted brown, corticate or not corticate (on at least upper third to half of podetia, and sometimes almost entirely decorticate; in patches), with longitudinally split or perforated wall. Thallus Outline: Margin dissected. Upper Surface: Areolated (where corticate), grey-green or lime green, smooth; not sorediate. Lower Surface: White.
