Ecology: Growing sun-exposed; substrate non-calciferous (mossy).

Thallus: Crustose, squamulose; lobes ascending or horizontal; branches densely aggregated or clustered; separate thallus parts 1-2.5 mm long; 1-1.5 mm wide. Primary Thallus: Persistent. Secondary Thallus: Present, of determinate growth; stipe 5-7 mm high, 1.5-3 mm wide, lime green, olive, or brown, homogeneously coloured or tainted brown, corticate, with intact wall. Thallus Outline: Margin crenulate (thick). Upper Surface: Areolated (or with rounded, peltate squamules), grey-green, lime green, olive, or brown (pale green to yellowish green to olive-brown or yellowish brown); not sorediate. Lower Surface: White.

Lower Cortex: Absent.

Ascocarps: Forming along the margin of scyphi, moderately abundant, .5-2.5 mm in diam.. Disk: Strongly convex; brown.

Conidiomata: Formed on margins of scyphi.

Secondary Metabolites: Homosekikaic acid and sekikaic acid, of the following substance class(es): orcinol depsides.

Spot Tests: Upper surface: K – (negative), C –, KC + pink, PD –.

UV-Fluorescence: Reaction colour: bright bluish white (weak).
